It was a pretty eventful weekend, poker wise. -$100 session friday night (5 hours I believe),
a whopping 17 hour session Saturday, yielding about 1.5K profit. I finally had a non-run dead session.
5 hour session sunday resulting in -$37.
here are 3 “tight” folds I made this weekend based on reads.
Blinds 3/5, AsQs (hero with $300) on the BB. Tall indian solid image player ($400) makes it 20 utg. He doesn’t open utg at all. I just fold and move on to the next hand.
AK offsuit, in LP, young middle eastern guy in MP opens to $20. I call, hispanic guy behind me with approx $1400 raises to $75. My reads: middle eastern guy opens somewhat frequently, but often calls an open more frequently. His hand strength should be stronger than his normal range by a tiny bit. Hispanic guy has been complaining about not catching cards the entire night, even though he is in for $200 buy in and has shown a profit of $1200. He does not want to lose a cent of his money, plays premiums only. He also blames certain dealers for being bad luck and giving him no cards, not angrily or aggressively, but I can tell he is serious about the luck thing.
I fold to the $55 raise. flop comes 7d7c5c. Mid eastern guy checks, Hispanic guy Bets a stack of yellows, $100, and other guy folds. Hispanic guy soon after tells me he had QQ, which i absolutely believe.
I’m in LP with QQ. utg limps, fat mid aged asian man buzzed cut with glasses opens to $40 in MP. I kid you not, I think about folding, but that would be too tight. I have not seen this man make an open like this in an unraised pot. It just doesn’t make sense.
I end up calling, I have about $270 left. Guy behind me shoves for $180. BB (big stack on the table) calls, utg folds, Fat asian man goes all in. Someone yells out, “Bad beat hand!” Which makes me kind of want to call lol
I go into the tank. tank tank tank tank tank. I really don’t think my hand is good here. I lean towards a fold, while the entire table is just staring at me. I look at BB across the table, and I just say I don’t think my hand is good here. He for some reason, mouths to me silently, “aces.” I frisbee the **** out of those b*tches.
Board comes out 7s5s4c Js Tc.
MP asian man flips over KK
BB flips over AA
Guy behind me flips over JJ FTW.
classic set up hand.
So listen to this, it’s not over. JJ scoops up the majority of the pot. Seat 1 bald asian man, approx age 32, asks me what I had. I just shake my head. I mean, what else could I have anyways. But then he goes into the muck, and flips over my QQ. He says, were these your cards? omg. I just say yea. Who the F does that. No class. Welcome to the commerce.
JJ guy compliments me that I’m a good player.
